09:00 am to 12:00 noon

Eligibility:

Age limit – If you born on or after October 1, 1997( OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category )and born on or after October 1, 1992 ( SC, ST or PwD category) then you can apply.

Number of attempts - You can attempt maximum of two times ( Regular year/ no year gapes between two years).

Academic eligibility –

Class- You should have passed in all subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2021, OR should be appearing for the qualifying examination for the first time in 2022 in order to be eligible for attempting UCEED 2022.

Subjects - Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply.

 Courses Under UCEED :

Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is a test center-based examination of 3 hours duration.

After qualify the entrance you may choose one of following fields that is provided by Colleges :

Industrial Design –

In this career, design applied to products that are to be manufactured by production of large amounts of standardized products in a constant flow, including and especially on assembly lines. It is the creative act of determining and defining a product's form and features, which takes place in advance of the making of a product. Industrial Design is a strategic problem-solving process that drives innovation, builds business success, and leads to a better quality of life through innovative products, systems, services, and experiences. Industrial Design bridges the gap between what is and what’s possible. It is a trans-disciplinary profession that harnesses creativity to resolve problems and co-create solutions with the intent of making a product, system, service, experience or a business, better. At its heart, Industrial Design provides a more optimistic way of looking at the future by reframing problems as opportunities. It links innovation, technology, research, business, and customers to provide new value and competitive advantage across economic, social, and environmental spheres. In contrast, manufacture consists purely of repeated, often automated, replication. This distinguishes industrial design from craft-based design, where the form of the product is determined by the product's creator largely concurrent with the act of its creation.
 Visual Communication:

Visual communication is the use of visual elements to deliver ideas and information which include but are not limited to, drawing, advertising, animation,  graphic design, illustration, signs, industrial design, typography and electronic resources.

Animation Design :

It is not only about cartoon films and videos; it is the art of creating special effects and other designs for various forms of media, including video games, movies and even social media posts.

There are 5 types of Animation design fields

·         Traditional Animation.

·         2D Animation.

·         3D Animation.

·         Motion Graphics.

·         Stop Motion.

 

Interaction Design - Interaction design, often known as  IxD in short, is "the practice of designing interactive digital products, systems, environments, and service. In addition to  the digital aspect, at the advanced level,  interaction design is also useful when creating physical products, exploring how a user might interact with it.

Mobility Design - The design is inclusive of people of all ages and abilities, bringing more opportunity to those who lack it today. Mobility is designed to bring people access to their communities.  Focusing from the perspective of the user, Urban Mobility Design investigates how designed mobility and design processes can respond to and drive the emerging social and technological disruptions in the passenger transport sector.

Vehicle Design - Automotive design is a field where creative ideas are used to define the physical appearance of motor vehicles such as cars, trucks, motorcycles etc. It encompasses interior and exterior design of the vehicles.

 

#How to Prepare for UCEED

First of all once take a look on syllabus

UCEED 2022 will have two parts.

·         Part-A will have questions on the basis of observation, understanding, analysis, differentiating and matching the relations between objects, animals,2d or 3d drawings etc., sensitivity and awareness, creative imaginations and manipulations, identify problems, generate alternatives, evaluate options and select solutions, Applying attention to certain details, analyzing, reasoning, classifying, inferring and predicting.

These all abilities will be asked under following topics:

 

Environment - General awareness of environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, natural resources etc.,

Current affairs (Design and others) - Design of products, images, infrastructure and environment. Awareness of social and cultural connection with design, history of the designed artefact

Logical reasoning - Ability to look at information, be it qualitative or quantitative in nature, and discern patterns, Ability to weigh opinions, arguments or solutions against appropriate criteria. Ability to check for hidden bias or hidden assumptions.

Product’s and brand’s Knowledge – Majorly famous logos of national and international brands, their taglines, slogans their brand ambassadors etc.

Design: Principles of  Design, Design thinking and problem solving

 

Language- Ability to understand and use Standard English. Reading comprehension, knowledge of English grammar. Ability to think creatively in terms of alternatives, ability to distinguish innovative options and to think out- of-the-box.

 

Part-B will have ONE question from the following topic:

Sketching: Product sketch, proportion, perspective and shading, imagination and memories.

 

*Note: Design entrances do not cover all topics within a particular percentage of mark weightage so remember UCEED 2022 may not cover all the topics given above.
